Oil Pump Inspection


- TOOLS REQUIRED
- SA91101NE Feeler Gauge





1. Inspect body clearance:
a. Using a feeler gauge SA 91101NE (or equivalent), measure the clearance between the driven rotor and pump body.
Body to Side Clearance:
Service Limit: 0.350 mm (0.012 inch) max.
b. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.





2. Inspect tip clearance:
a. Using a feeler gauge SA 91101NE (or equivalent), measure the clearance between both rotor tips.
Tip Clearance:
Standard: 0.150 mm (0.006 inch) max.
b. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.





3. Inspect end-to-end clearance:
a. Using a feeler gauge SA 91101NE (or equivalent) or Plastigage (or equivalent) measure the clearance between the side of drive and driven rotors and the oil pump cover plate.
End-to-End Clearance:
Service Limit: 0.08 mm (0.003 inch) max.
b. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.
