Horn: Service and Repair




REMOVAL
1. Remove suction/liquid line clamp nut from horn bracket stud.
2. Remove suction/liquid line assembly clamp from horn bracket stud.
3. Push line up and out of the way.
4. Disconnect horn electrical connector.
5. Remove horn bracket-to-frame rail nut.
6. Remove horn and horn bracket.
7. Remove horn-to-horn bracket nut.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove tuning bracket from horn assembly. Replace entire assembly.

8. Remove horn assembly from horn bracket.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: If the tuning bracket is removed from the horn, position bracket in the exact position as before and torque 12 N.m (106 lbs-in.), then test horn.

1. Attach horn assembly to horn bracket.
2. Install horn-to-horn bracket attaching nut.

Torque: 18 N.m (13 ft-lbs)

3. Install horn bracket on frame rail stud.
4. Install horn bracket-to-frame rail attaching nut.

Torque: 20 N.m (15 ft-lbs)

5. Connect horn electrical connector.
6. Install suction/liquid line clamp on horn bracket stud.
7. Install suction.liquid line clamp nut on horn bracket stud.

Torque: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
