Hard Start
DEFINITION: Engine cranks fine but does not start immediately. Does eventually run, or may start but stalls immediately.Check:
^ Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor for evidence of being shifted.
^ Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor for proper operation.
^ Throttle Position (TP) sensor for operation through all ranges.
^ Fuel system and fuel quality.
^ Ignition system.
^ Idle Air Control (IAC).
^ Engine mechanical problems (e.g., low compression, sticking lifters, worn valve train).
^ Carbon deposits.
