REMOVAL
IMPORTANT: On vehicles equipped with cruise control it is necessary to remove left stabilizer bar clamp from under vehicle.
1. Remove stabilizer bar clamps to frame fasteners.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST
2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Remove wheel and tire assemblies
4. Vehicles equipped with automatic transaxles must remove exhaust manifold pipe.
IMPORTANT: It is not necessary to remove oxygen sensor from exhaust manifold pipe.
a. Disconnect oxygen sensor harness from exhaust heat shield
b. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
c. Remove exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust manifold fasteners.
d. Remove suspension support assemblies and discard bolts.
e. Remove exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust pipe fasteners.
IMPORTANT: Only loosen fasteners. Do not remove.
f. Loosen the remaining frame attachment fastener until exhaust manifold pipe can be removed from vehicle.
5. Remove stabilizer bar links from stabilizer bar.
6. Remove stabilizer bar from vehicle through left wheel opening.
INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: Stabilizer bar bushings must be installed with the slot facing the rear of vehicle.
1. Install stabilizer bar bushings.
2. Install stabilizer bar through left wheel opening.
IMPORTANT: On vehicles equipped with cruise control it is necessary to tighten left stabilizer bar clamp from under the vehicle.
3. Install stabilizer bar clamps and hand tighten.
4. Tighten left side clamp on vehicles equipped with cruise control.
Torque: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
5. Install stabilizer bar links.
Torque: 65 Nm (41 ft. lbs.)
6. Vehicles equipped with automatic transaxles must install exhaust manifold pipe.
a. Install exhaust manifold pipe into vehicle, tighten exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold pipe fasteners.
Torque: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
b. Install exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust pipe fasteners.
Torque: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
c. Install frame alignment fixture J-43628 and raise frame to vehicle.
IMPORTANT: New bolts must be used; torque retention of old bolts may not be sufficient.
d. Remove remaining frame bolts and replace with new bolts, and tighten.
Torque: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) + 45 to 60°
IMPORTANT: New bolts must be used; torque retention of old bolts may not be sufficient.
e. Install suspension support assemblies using new bolts.
Torque: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) + 45 to 60°
f. Connect oxygen sensor harness to heat shield.
Torque: 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.)
g. Connect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
NOTICE: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors. Failure to do so can cause wheel bolts to loosen in service.
7. Position wheel onto hub.
8. Install wheel bolts and tighten in a crisscross pattern. Repeat tightening pattern to make sure torque is correct.
Torque: 125 Nm (92 lbs. ft.)
9. Lower vehicle from hoist.
10. Tighten stabilizer bar clamps.
Torque: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)
