Starting and Charging Diagnosis
Schematic:
The L terminal circuit 225 is a two way link between the PCM and the generator. The PCM supplies the generator with 5 volts to initiate charging. The generator will ground circuit 225 if it has stopped charging or if it detects an internal fault. If the PCM detects ground on this circuit, it sends a class II signal to the I/P cluster to illuminate charge telltale. The PCM can disable the generator by removing voltage.
DTC Parameters
DTC P0621 will set under either of the following conditions:
- Engine is running and generator L-terminal is low for 15 seconds.
-OR-
- Engine is not running and generator L-terminal is high for 5 seconds.
DTC Parameters
When using Scan tool:
ACTIVE: Indicates the PCM is enabling the generator.
INACTIVE: Indicates the PCM is disabling the generator.
