Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the glove compartment door.
2. Remove the lower glove compartment door fasteners and remove the compartment door.




3. Remove the glove compartment door outer fasteners and disassemble the inner to outer panel




4. Disconnect the latch from the handle connector rod and remove the latch assembly.



Installation Procedure





1. If the glove compartment door cover is being replaced, remove the spring clip and transfer the handle assembly to the new cover.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the glove compartment latch with the latch fasteners.

Tighten the glove compartment latch fasteners to 2 N.m(18 lb in).

3. Snap in the latch to the handle connector rod.




4. Position the glove compartment door inner cover to outer cover and secure it with the fasteners.
5. Tighten the fasteners

Tighten the glove compartment door outer cover to 2 N.m(18 lb in).





6. Position the glove compartment door to vehicle.
7. Using an awl to aid in the spring loaded hinge, position the hinge to lower the attachment with the awl in the center fastener hole.
8. Install the outer fasteners.
9. Install the center fastener.

Tighten the glove compartment door fasteners to 2 N.m(18 lb in).

10. Operate the glove compartment door to check for fit and function.
11. Adjust if necessary, then tighten the fasteners.
