Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove air inlet tube and air cleaner assembly.
3. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to "Fuel System Pressure Relief" procedure. Service and Repair
4. Disconnect fuel lines (supply and return) from fuel rail using special tool (J 37088 - 1A and 2A).
5. Disconnect fuel pressure regulator hose from throttle body and fuel rail.
6. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connectors.
7. Disconnect Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connection.
8. Disconnect throttle and cruise control cables.
9. Remove throttle body mounting bolts and nuts.
10. Remove throttle cable bracket.
11. Remove throttle body.
NOTE: The throttle body-to-manifold gasket is reusable if it is not damaged. Replace if damaged.
INSTALLATION
1. Install throttle body gasket.
2. Install throttle body and throttle cable bracket
3. Install throttle body mounting bolts and nuts.
Torque:
Bolt: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
Nut: 10 N.m (89 in-lbs)
4. Connect throttle and cruise control cables.
5. Connect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connectors.
6. Connect Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connection.
7. Connect fuel pressure regulator hose to throttle body and fuel rail.
8. Connect fuel lines (supply and return) from fuel rail.
9. Connect air inlet tube and air cleaner assembly.
10. Connect negative battery cable.
