Service Manual Update for All the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals
MODELS AFFECTED:
2000 Saturn L-Series Sedans and Wagons
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this bulletin is to update all the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your location.
Obtain all the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your location and update as follows.
^ On page 69, write in the following important statement above step 7.
IMPORTANT:
Before installing transaxle fluid level plug, apply Loctite 242(R) Threadlocker, or equivalent, to threads of plug.
^ On page 78, cross out existing step 5 and write in the following.
5. Remove line pressure tap plug and install line pressure gauge 5A9127E to transaxle.
^ On page 78, after step 9, write in the following important statement and procedure step.
IMPORTANT:
Before installing line pressure tap plug, apply Loctite 242(R) Threadlocker, or equivalent, to threads of plug.
10. Remove line pressure gauge 5A9127E and install line pressure tap plug.
^ On page 79, change step number 10 to step number 11.
^ Make a photo copy of page 2 of this bulletin. On page 282, cross out steps 3 and 4 in center of page and insert photo copy between page 282 and 283.
^ Make a photo copy of page 3 of this bulletin. On page 347 under Transmission Cooler Line Seals Removal procedure at bottom of page, cross out entire procedure and insert photo copy of new procedure between pages 346 and 347.
Make a photo copy of this page and turn to page 282 in all the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your facility. On page 282, cross out steps 3 and 4 in center of page and insert this photo copy between page 282 and 283.
3. Clamp tool J-41239-10 onto transaxle cooler line seal on outside of transaxle case bore.
4. Remove transaxle cooler line seal by rotating and prying transaxle cooler line seal out of transaxle case with attached tool.
Make a photo copy of this page and turn to page 347 in all the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your facility. On page 347 under Transmission Cooler Line Seals Removal procedure at bottom of page, cross out entire procedure and insert this photo copy of new procedure between pages 346 and 347.
TRANSAXLE COOLER LINE SEAL REMOVAL
TOOLS REQUIRED:
^ J-41239-10 Cooler Line Seal Removal Tool
1. Clamp tool J-41239-10 onto transaxle cooler line seal on outside of transaxle case bore.
2. Remove transaxle cooler line seal by rotating and prying transaxle cooler line seal out of transaxle case with attached tool.
