Throttle Body Assembly Cleaning and Inspection

NOTE: The throttle and plate motor must not come in contact with solvent or cleaner, as it may be damaged.

The throttle bore and valve deposits may be cleaned on-vehicle using carburetor cleaner (Saturn P/N 21007432) and a shop towel Follow instructions on container. Do not use a cleaner that contains methyl ethyl ketone, an extremely strong solvent that is not necessary for removing this type of deposit.

IMPORTANT:
^ Shiny spots on the pintle or seat are normal, and do not indicate misalignment or a bent pintle shaft.
^ If air passage has heavy deposits, remove throttle body for complete cleaning.
