Service Manual Update for All of the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals
MODELS AFFECTED:
2000 Saturn L-Series Sedans and Wagons Equipped with 4T40E (RPO MN4) and 4T45B (RPO MN5) Automatic Transaxles
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this bulletin is to update the "Direct/Coast Clutch, Reaction Carrier Assemble" procedure in the Automatic Transaxle System section of all of the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your location.
Obtain all of the 2000 L-Series Automatic Transaxle Service Manuals at your location and update as follows:
^ On page 379, cross out the Important statement above step 24, and cross out step 24.
^ Write in the following after step 23:
(Refer to Bulletin No. 99-T-61.)
^ Insert this bulletin between pages 378 and 379.
IMPORTANT:
The 4T40E (RPO MN4) has seven steel and five fiber plates in the direct clutch. The 4T45E (RPO MN5) has six steel and six fiber plates in the direct clutch.
24. Assemble steel and fiber direct clutch plates in the direct clutch using the stacking sequence shown beginning with a steel plate.
