3. Stub Shaft Removal
Tools Required- SA9133T Axle Seal Puller
- J44017 Stub Shaft Remover
NOTICE: Handle the stub shaft carefully. The stub shaft sleeve is reusable if the sleeve is not damaged or removed from the stub shaft. Damage to the stub shaft sleeve will result in a transaxle fluid leak.
1. Remove and discard snap ring from end of stub shaft. The stub shaft snap ring is not reusable.
2. Attach stub shaft remover J44017 to slide hammer axle seal puller from SA9133T. Install J44017 into snap ring groove on stub shaft. Tighten J44017 securely to the stub shaft.
NOTICE: Confirm that the stub shaft snap ring is properly seated in the differential side gear. If not, damage may occur to the transaxle when attempting to remove the stub shaft.
3. Pull lightly on the shaft and rotate it until the stub shaft snap ring at differential seats in the taper on the differential side gear.
4. Pull stub shaft out with slide hammer impact.
