Seat Cushion Cover/Pad/Frame Replacement - Front
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) .
2. Raise the headrest assembly to the full-up position.
3. Pull upward on the headrest while pushing the headrest buttons toward the rear of the vehicle and pull the headrest out of the seat back.
4. Remove the inner recliner cover fasteners and remove the recliner cover.
5. Remove the outer valance panel.
6. On the power seat option and heated seats, disconnect the power recliner and the seat back heat pad harness.
7. Remove the recliner fasteners and remove the front seat back assembly.
8. On vehicles with a lumbar knob, pull firmly on the knob from side to side.
9. Release the seat back cover by disengaging the bottom J-strip.
10. Fold the seat back cover over the top of the seat back to expose the seat cover wire.
11. Unsnap the wire from the wire retainer to disengage the seat back cover.
12. Remove the headrest sleeves by compressing the tabs while pulling up on the sleeve.
13. Remove the seat cover/pad from the seat back frame.
Installation Procedure
1. If the seat cover is being replaced, transfer the seat cover upper wire to the new seat cover.
2. Position the seat back cover to the foam pad.
3. Starting at the top, position the seat cover over the seat back frame.
4. Pull down on the cover checking that the cover is centered on the seat back frame.
5. Install the seat back cover upper wire to the retainers.
6. Pull the cover around the seat frame lower and secure the cover to the frame with the J-strip.
7. Apply pressure at the hook-and-loop fastener locations to seat cover to seat back pad.
8. On vehicles with a lumbar handle, cut a small hole at the handle location to expose the lumbar shaft.
9. Install the lumbar knob to the lumbar shaft by firmly pushing on the knob.
10. On power seat and heated seat, route and connect the power seat recliner and the heat pod harness to the seat cushion wiring harness.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
11. Install the seat back assembly to the seat adjuster.
Tighten the recliner fasteners to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
12. Install the inner recliner cover.
Tighten the inner recliner cover fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb ft).
13. Install the outer valance panel.
14. Align the headrest support rods with the holes in the headrest sleeves.
15. Push the headrest into the sleeves to engage the support rods.
16. Install the seat into the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat.
