SUBJECT:
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter is Inoperative or Intermittently Inoperative (Diagnose and Repair as Necessary Using Diagnostic Information Contained in this Bulletin)

MODELS AFFECTED:

^ 2000 Saturn L-Series vehicles equipped with RKE (RPO AU0) and L81 (V-6) engines built before VIN YY664721

^ 2000 Saturn L-Series vehicles equipped with RKE (RPO AU0) and L61 (4-Cylinder) engines built before VIN YY665126

CONDITION:
Some customers may comment that the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter is inoperative or intermittently inoperative.

CAUSE:
Flux residue from the circuit board soldering process may interrupt the electrical connection between the transmitter circuit board and the negative side of the transmitter battery.

Refer to the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Check diagnostic chart within this bulletin for further diagnostic information.

PARTS REQUIREMENTS:
24401698 Transmitter Asm - R/Con Dr Lk
CR2032 or equivalent Battery - Panasonic 3 Volt*

CLAIM INFORMATION:
To receive credit for this repair during the warranty coverage period, submit a claim through the Saturn Dealer System for R4490 (Transmitter, Remote Door/Rear Compartment Lock - Replace).
