I/P CD Jumper Installation




26. Gain access to rear of radio and connect CD I/P jumper to radio.

IMPORTANT: I/P harness connector, antenna connector, and ground strap terminal do not need to be disconnected, unless the radio needs to be upgraded. Ensure connection.

a. Remove radio.
b. Upgrade radio (if necessary) to AM/FM stereo cassette player with equalizer (ULO) or AM/FM stereo cassette player and CD player with equalizer (UPO).
c. Connect I/P CD jumper connector to rear of radio.

IMPORTANT: Do not secure radio or trim in place until CD Changer/Player is installed and verified to be functioning correctly.

d. Set radio into radio brace.




27. Route I/P CD jumper from rear of radio to CD Changer/Player location in the console which is near the park brake.
a. Route I/P CD jumper behind left side of radio along side of current routing for I/P harness.
b. Attach the I/P CD jumper to I/P harness to hold jumper in place.
c. Route I/P CD jumper the rest of the way to CD Changer/Player.




28. Install 5A CD (RIA) fuse into the IPFB.

CONSOLE INSTALLATION




29. Ensure park brake is applied.
30. Adjust front seats to most rearward position.
31. Recline driver's and passenger's seatbacks as far down as possible.
32. Select neutral for transaxle gear (on automatic transaxles).
33. Hold front end of console down and rear end up.
34. Position all harnesses so they can be accessed.
35. Maneuver console over gear selector lever and passed brake lever.
36. Connect CD Changer/Player connector. Verify that CD Changer/Player is functioning properly.




37. Connect power outlet electrical connector.
38. On automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, remove tape from gear selector.




39. Install rear console screws.

Torque: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)




40. Install front console screws.

Torque: 2.2 N.m (19 in-lbs)

41. Install left and right extension panels.
a. Insert extension panel hinges into console.
b. Close extension panel.
c. Push in extension panel at dual lock locations to secure in place.




42. Connect power window/mirror switch assembly connectors (if equipped).
43. Install power window/mirror switch assembly or storage tray (depending on equipment).
