Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove air cleaner housing cover and air induction hose at throttle body.
2. Remove powertrain control module bolts.
3. Disconnect powertrain control module I/P harness electrical connector.
4. Lift powertrain control module from carrier and set aside.
IMPORTANT: Clean all exterior surfaces with brake cleaner.
5. Disconnect electronic brake and traction control module electrical connector by pulling on lock tab.
6. Remove electronic brake and traction control module screws.
7. Pull electronic brake and traction control module straight off of brake pressure modulator valve.
INSTALLATION
1. Align coils on electronic brake and traction control module with valve cores on brake pressure modulator valve and push together.
2. Install and tighten screws.
Torque: 4 - 6 Nm (35 - 53 inch lbs.)
3. Connect electrical connector and push in tab to lock.
4. Install powertrain control module to carrier.
5. Connect powertrain control module I/P harness electrical connector.
6. Install and tighten powertrain control module bolts.
Torque: 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.)
7. Install air cleaner housing cover and air induction hose.
