Park Lock Cable Assembly (Left Hand Drive Vehicles)

REMOVAL





1. Disable the Restraint Systems.
2. Remove console.
3. Remove lower column cover fasteners, upper cover, and lower cover.





4. Disengage the retaining tabs and remove the park lock cable assembly from the ignition module.





5. Disconnect the end terminal of the park lock cable assembly from the plastic lock-out lever at the control base assembly.
6. Depress two tabs on the end fitting of the park lock cable assembly and remove the park lock cable assembly from the control base assembly.





7. Remove park lock cable assembly from vehicle and note cable routing.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the new park lock cable.
2. Route cable around HVAC module fin.





3. Route cable through accelerator pedal bracket retainer clip.





4. Install park lock cable fitting end to control base assembly. Be sure to seat fitting completely.
5. Attach park lock cable end terminal to plastic lock-out lever on the control assembly.





6. Snap park lock cable assembly onto ignition module.





7. Install lower column cover, top column cover, and fasteners.

IMPORTANT: The ignition key must be in the ACC position when installing the ignition cylinder into the ignition module.

8. Adjust the park lock cable assembly.
9. Install console.
10. Enable the SIR system.
