6. Case

- TOOLS REQUIRED
- SA9133T Axle Seal Puller
- SA9103E Regulator Valve Remover/Replacer
- SA9173G Slide Hammer

DISASSEMBLY





1. Remove axle seal using SA9133T.
a. Remove seal dust cover by prying out with a screwdriver.
b. Remove axle seal retainer (snap ring).
c. Remove seal by threading puller through steel seal body as close to outside diameter as possible.
2. Remove transaxle range switch seal by prying out with screwdriver.





3. Remove case bearings.
To remove input and output shaft bearings from transaxle case use snap ring pliers to expand snap ring only far enough to slide bearing out of its bore by hand.

IMPORTANT: The shaft contains O-rings which may cause difficulty in removing shaft. Rotating shaft while pulling will aid in removal.





4. Remove reverse idler assembly.
a. Remove reverse idler gear shaft cap bolts.
b. Remove cap.
c. Remove idler gear shaft.
d. Remove gear and bearing.





5. Unless the filter bypass valve is physically damaged, there is no need to remove. This valve will be damaged when removing. To remove use tool SA9103E and SA9173G.
