Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
2. Remove the inner recliner cover fasteners.
3. Remove the outer valance panel.
4. On power seat option and heated seats, disconnect the power recliner and the seat back heat pad the harness.
5. Remove the recliner fasteners and remove the seat back assembly.
6. Remove the seat cover J-strip from the seat frame at the back of the cushion.
7. If the pad is to be replaced on heated seats, disconnect the heated seat wiring connector from the seat frame harness.
8. Remove the seat cushion carrier fasteners and remove the seat carrier from the seat adjuster.
9. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, disengage the J-strip from the seat cushion carrier.
10. Pull up the material to expose the hog rings in the foam pad. Remove the hog rings and remove the cover.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion foam.
2. Position the seat cushion pad onto the seat carrier.
3. Attach the seat cushion J-strips to the seat carrier around the front and sides.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Position the cushion carrier to the seat adjuster and secure with the fasteners.
Tighten the seat cushion carrier-to-seat adjuster fasteners to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
5. Wrap the seat cover material over the back of the seat adjuster and secure it with the J-strip.
6. On power seat and heated seat, route and connect the power seat recliner and the heat pad harness to the seat pad wiring harness.
7. Install the seat back assembly to the seat adjuster.
Tighten the recliner fasteners to 35 Nm (26 lb ft).
8. Install the inner recliner cover.
Tighten the inner recliner cover fasteners to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).
9. Install the outer valance panel.
10. Install the seat into the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
