29. Camshaft Clean and Inspect

CAMSHAFT CLEAN AND INSPECT
(UNIT REPAIR)





- Inspect valve lifters for scoring where they contact the camshaft.
- Inspect camshaft journals and lobes for wear or scoring.
- Inspect camshaft sprocket alignment notch for damage.
- Inspect camshaft cover for damage or loose oil control baffles.
- Clean camshaft cover.
- Wash camshaft in solvent.
- Inspect camshaft cover for cracks or other signs of damage.
