63. Exhaust Manifold Installation

EXHAUST MANIFOLD INSTALLATION
(UNIT REPAIR)

INSTALLATION





1. Install new exhaust manifold studs.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Studs-to-Cylinder Head: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)





2. Install new exhaust manifold gasket.
3. Install exhaust manifold to cylinder head.
4. Install exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts. Tighten nuts starting from the center and working outward.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold-to-Cylinder Head Nuts: 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)





5. Install exhaust manifold heat shield.
6. Install exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Bolts: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)





7. Coat threads of oxygen sensor with anti-seize compound, Saturn P/N 21485279 (or equivalent).
8. Install oxygen sensor.
Torque:
Oxygen Sensor-to-Exhaust Manifold Pipe: 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
