REMOVAL

IMPORTANT: On vehicles equipped with cruise control, it is necessary to remove left stabilizer bar clamp from under vehicle.

1. Remove stabilizer bar clamps to frame fasteners.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Remove wheel and tire assemblies
4. Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles must remove exhaust manifold pipe.

IMPORTANT: It is not necessary to remove oxygen sensor from exhaust manifold pipe.

4.1. Disconnect oxygen sensor harness from exhaust heat shield
4.2. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.

4.3. Remove exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust manifold fasteners.

4.4. Remove suspension support assemblies and discard bolts.

4.5. Remove exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust pipe fasteners.

IMPORTANT: Only loosen fasteners. Do not remove.

4.6. Loosen the remaining frame attachment fastener until exhaust manifold pipe can be removed from vehicle.

NOTICE: Hold ball stud from turning when removing nut. The boot can become torn and damaged if the ball stud turns.

5. Remove stabilizer bar links from stabilizer bar.
6. Remove stabilizer bar from vehicle through left wheel opening.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Stabilizer bar bushings must be installed with the slot facing the rear of vehicle.

1. Install stabilizer bar bushings.

2. Install stabilizer bar through left wheel opening.

IMPORTANT: On vehicles equipped with cruise control, it is necessary to tighten left stabilizer bar clamp from under the vehicle.

3. Install stabilizer bar clamps and hand tighten.
4. Tighten left side clamp on vehicles equipped with cruise control.
Torque: Stabilizer Bar Clamp-to-Frame Bolts: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Hold ball stud from turning when removing nut. The boot can become torn and damaged if the ball stud turns.

5. Install stabilizer bar links.
Torque: Stabilizer Bar Link-to-Strut: 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.)
6. Inspect boots for damage and replace if damaged.
7. Vehicles equipped with manual transaxles must install exhaust manifold pipe.

7.1. Install exhaust manifold pipe into vehicle, tighten exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold pipe fasteners.
Torque: Exhaust Manifold Pipe-to-Exhaust Manifold Nuts: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)

7.2. Install exhaust manifold pipe to exhaust pipe fasteners.
Torque: Exhaust Manifold Pipe-to-Resonator Bolts: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

7.3. Install Frame Alignment Fixture J43628 and raise frame to vehicle.

IMPORTANT: New bolts and nuts must be used; torque retention of old bolts and nuts may not be sufficient.

7.4. Remove remaining frame bolts and nuts and replace with new bolts and nuts, and tighten.
Torque: Frame Assembly-to-Body Bolts: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) + 45° - 60°

IMPORTANT: New bolts and nuts must be used; torque retention of old bolts and nuts may not be sufficient.

7.5. Install suspension support assemblies using new bolts and nuts.
Torque: Suspension Support-to-Body Bolts: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) +45° - 60°

7.6. Connect oxygen sensor harness to heat shield.
Torque: O2 Sensor Clip-to-Underbody Attachment Nut: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
7.7. Connect oxygen sensor electrical connector.

NOTICE: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors. Failure to do so can cause wheel bolts to loosen in service.

8. Position wheel onto hub.
9. Install wheel bolts and tighten in a star pattern.
9.1. Hand tighten all five wheel bolts.
9.2. Use a torque wrench to tighten wheel bolts using a star pattern.
Torque: Wheel Bolts (Initial Torque): 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
9.3. Use a torque wrench to final tighten wheel bolts using a star pattern.
Torque: Wheel Bolts (Final Torque): 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.)
