Stop Lamp Switch
STOP LAMP SWITCHThe stop lamp switch operates vehicle stop lamps and signals several electronic modules on vehicle, including the Transaxle Control Module (TCM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The switch is normally open when the brake pedal is in released position. When the brake pedal is depressed, pressure on the switch plunger is released and the switch closes. If Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) is engaged when brake pedal is depressed, the PCM/TCM will disengage TCC.
