Installation

INSTALLATION

1. Position power steering pump into vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Do not tighten any bolts until all bolts have been started.





2. Install power steering pump-to-bracket bolts and tighten.
Torque: Power Steering Pump-to-Bracket Bolts (L81): 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)





3. Inspect 0-ring seal on pressure hose and replace if necessary. Install pressure and return hoses.
Torque: Power Steering High Pressure Line-to-Pump (L81): 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)





4. Install pump pulley and hand tighten bolts only.





5. Install accessory drive belt.
6. Tighten pump pulley bolts.
Torque: Power Steering Pump Pulley-to-Hub Bolt: 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)

7. Install air cleaner assembly.




7.1. Install air box. Ensure that lower pin engages into rubber mount grommet and that lower duct fits into resonator.
7.2. Install air box mount bolt.
7.3. Install air cleaner.





7.4. Install air cleaner lid. Ensure that the lid hinge is fully engaged in air box slots or the lid may not properly seal.
7.5. Slide flexible hose and hose clamp on throttle body.
7.6. Tighten hose clamp.





7.7. Install EVAP purge valve assembly.





7.8. Connect MAF electrical connection.
8. Fill power steering pump fluid reservoir with clean power steering fluid (GM Spec. 9985010).
9. Bleed power steering system.
