Front Seat Cushion Replacement (SL2, SW2)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) .
2. On the driver's seat, rotate the seat riser knob to the full up position.




3. Remove the recliner handle.
4. On the driver's side, remove the seat riser knob cover and fastener.
5. Remove the seat adjuster side cover.
6. On the driver's side, install the riser knob without the screw. Lower the cushion.




7. On the driver's seats, remove the lumbar knob assembly.

* Remove the lumbar knob retaining clip.
* Remove the lumbar knob by pulling.
* Remove the lumbar actuator fasteners.
* Remove the lumbar actuator cable assembly by pushing rearward.





8. Thread the lumbar cable back above the riser bar to the side of the seat back.




9. Disengage the rear J-strip.

* Seat Cover (1)
* Cushion Frame (2)
* Foam Pad (3)
* Cross Tube (4)
* Seat Cover J-Strip (5)

10. On the driver's side, raise the seat cushion and remove the riser knob.




11. Remove the bolts at the sides of the seat cushion and remove the seat cushion.




12. Disengage the remaining seat cover J-strips and the two push fasteners.
13. Remove the seat cushion frame.




14. Pull up on cover to expose the hog rings (1) and/or separate hook-and-loop fasteners. Remove the cover.



Installation Procedure





1. Transfer the listing wires to the new cover.
2. Install the seat cover over the pad.
3. Install the hog rings (1) around each seat cover listing wire and the seat foam listing wire.




4. Check the fit of the cover and pull on the cover where necessary to remove the wrinkles. Attach the push fasteners.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the seat cushion assembly to the seat adjuster.

Tighten the seat cushion-to-seat adjuster to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

6. On the driver's side, install the riser knob without the screw. Lower the seat cushion and remove the riser knob.




7. On the driver's side, install the lumbar knob assembly.

1. Thread the lumbar cable between the riser bar and the seat cushion bottom towards the lumbar actuator plate.
2. Align the lumbar actuator cable assembly guide with the slot in the actuator plate.
3. Install the lumbar actuator fasteners.

Tighten the seat cushion-to-seat adjuster to 3 N.m (27 lb in).






8. Align the grooves on the lumbar knob with the grooves on the lumbar actuator cable assembly and push to install.
9. Install the lumbar knob retaining clip.




10. Wrap the seat cushion cover rear flap to cover up the recliner cross tube and engage the seat cushion cover rear J-strip to the seat cushion frame. Refer to the following:

* Seat Cover (1)
* Cushion Frame (2)
* Foam Pad (3)
* Cross Tube (4)
* Seat Cover J-Strip (5)





11. Install the seat adjuster side cover.

Tighten the seat side cover fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

12. Install the recliner handle.

Tighten the recliner handle fastener to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

13. On the driver's side, install the seat riser knob.

Tighten the seat riser knob fastener to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

14. Install the seat into the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket) .
