Liftgate Strut Replacement

Removal Procedure






Important: The lift gate must be supported when removing 1 or both hinges and/or struts. Remove 1 hinge at a time.


1. Open the lift gate and support.

Important: The spring clip should not be removed.


2. Using a small screwdriver, carefully pry the spring clip back from the end of the strut.
3. Remove the strut end from the strut anchor.
4. Repeat the procedure for the other end and remove the strut.



Installation Procedure

1. Align the strut end with the strut anchor and push on to attach.
2. Remove the support and close the lift gate, inspecting for proper operation of the strut.
