PURPOSE:
The purpose of this bulletin is to update the SIRS section of 2000/2001 S-Series Restraints Service Manuals.
Please obtain all 2000/2001 S-Series Restraints Service Manuals at your location and make the necessary updates as indicated below.
^ Cross out "Cross-car Beam" with marker or pen on page 123 in the "Accident With Frontal Air Bag Deployment - Component Replacement And Inspections" service information. This term is in the bulleted list halfway down the page.
^ Cross out CURTAIN INFLATOR MODULE definition on page 121.
^ Write in the following with marker or pen under the existing definition "Refer to Technical Information Bulletin 01-T-03"

REVISED DEFINITION CURTAIN INFLATOR MODULE - An assembly located beneath the instrument panel upper trim cover attached to the cross-car beam consisting of an inflatable air bag and an inflator (a canister of gas-generated material and an initiator).
