Fender Lower Reinforcement Brace Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement (Front Fender Replacement) removal procedure in this section.
2. Open hood.
3. Pull top filler neck apart form washer bottle by rocking side to side while pulling out.

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Cautions and Notices.

4. Raise vehicle.
5. Disconnect wiring harness from pump.
6. Disconnect wiring harness from solvent level sensor.
7. Move hose spring clamp rearward.

Important: When removing hoses from washer system components, avoid spilling washer fluid on painted surfaces.


8. Remove fluid hose from pump, making sure to capture spilling solvent.
9. Remove washer solvent container attaching fasteners.
10. Remove washer solvent container from vehicle.
11. Empty fluid from solvent container into a container and remove pump from fluid bottle by pulling firmly on pump.
12. Remove rivets attaching reinforcement to spaceframe.
13. Remove reinforcement from spaceframe.

Installation Procedure

1. Position reinforcement to spaceframe.
2. Install rivets into reinforcement and spaceframe.
3. Install washer pump to solvent container.
4. Position washer solvent container into location.
5. Install washer solvent container attaching fasteners.

Tighten Washer Solvent Container Attaching Fasteners to: 4 Nm (35 lb in)

6. Install fluid hose to pump and position spring clamp.
7. Connect wiring harness to pump and solvent level sensor.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Install filler neck to bottle.

Important: Do not reuse washer fluid as debris may clog the system.


10. Fill solvent container with washer solvent.
11. Check that pump operates properly.
12. Install front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement (Front Fender Replacement) installation procedure in this section.
