63. Exhaust Manifold Installation

EXHAUST MANIFOLD (UNIT REPAIR)

INSTALLATION





1. Install new exhaust manifold studs.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Studs-to-Cylinder Head: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)





2. Install new exhaust manifold gasket.
3. Install exhaust manifold to cylinder head.
4. Install exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts. Tighten nuts starting from the center and working outward.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold-to-Cylinder Head Nuts: 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)





5. Coat the threads of oxygen sensor with antisieze compound (PIN 12397953).
6. Install oxygen sensor.
Torque:
Oxygen Sensor Bolts: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)





7. Install exhaust manifold heat shield.
8. Install exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Torque:
Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Bolts: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)





9. Install air pipe gasket (if equipped).
10. Install] air pipe (if equipped).
11. Install air pipe bolts (if equipped).
Torque:
Air Pipe Bolts: 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
12. Install air pipe nut (if equipped).
Torque:
Air Pipe Nut: 16 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
