Front Seat Back Frame/Pad/Cover

REMOVAL




1. Remove seat from vehicle.




2. Raise headrest assembly to full-up position.
3. Pull upward on headrest while pushing headrest buttons towards rear of vehicle and pull headrest out of seatback.




4. Remove inner recliner cover fasteners and remove recliner cover.
5. Remove outer valance panel.




6. On power seat option and heated seats, disconnect power recliner and seat back heat pad harness.




7. Remove recliner fasteners and remove front seat back assembly.




8. On vehicles with lumbar knob, pull firmly on knob from side to side.




9. Release seat back cover by disengaging bottom J-strip
10. Fold seat back cover over top of seat back to expose seat cover wire.




11. Unsnap wire from wire retainer to disengage seat back cover.




12. Remove headrest sleeves by compressing tabs while pulling up on sleeve.




13. Remove seat cover/pad from set back frame.

INSTALLATION




1. If seat cover is being replaced, transfer seat cover upper wire to new seat cover.




2. Position seat back cover to foam pad.
3. Starting at the top, position seat cover over seat back frame.




4. Pull down on cover checking that the cover is centered on the seat back frame.
5. Install seat back cover upper wire to retainers.




6. Pull cover around the seat frame lower and secure cover to frame with J-strip.
7. Apply pressure at hook-and-loop fastener locations to seat cover to seat back pad.




8. On vehicles with lumbar handle, cut a small hole at handle location to expose lumbar shaft.
9. Install lumbar knob to lumbar shaft by firmly pushing on knob.




10. On power seat and heated seat, route and connect power seat recliner and heat pod harness to seat cushion wiring harness.




11. Install seat back assembly to seat adjuster.

Torque:
Recliner Fasteners: 35 N.m (26 ft-lbs)





12. Install inner recliner cover.

Torque:
Inner Recliner Cover Fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)





13. Install outer valance panel.




14. Align headrest support rods with holes in headrest sleeves.
15. Push headrest into sleeves to engage Support rods.




16. Install seat into vehicle.
