Oil Pump Inspection
OIL PUMP INSPECTIONTOOLS REQUIRED
- SA9l101 NE Feeler Gauge Set
1. Inspect body clearance:
1.1. Using a Feeler Gauge Set SA91101NE (or equivalent), measure the clearance between the driven rotor and pump body.
Driven Rotor-to-Pump Body Side Clearance
Standard: 0.150 - 0.277 mm (0.006 - 0.011 inch)
Service Limit: 0.277 mm (0.011 inch) max.
1.2. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.
2. Inspect tip clearance:
2.1. Using a feeler gauge SA9l101NE (or equivalent), measure the clearance between both rotor tips.
Rotor Tip Clearance Service Limit: 0.150 mm (0.006 inch) max.
2.2. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.
3. Inspect end-to-end clearance:
3.1. Using a feeler gauge SA91lOlNE (or equivalent) or Plastigage (or equivalent) measure the clearance between the side of drive and driven rotors and the oil pump cover plate.
Rotor-to-Cover Side Clearance
Standard: 0.040 - 0.125 mm (0.0016 - 0.0049 inch)
Service Limit: 0.08 mm (0.003 inch) max.
3.2. If the clearance is greater than service limit, replace oil pump assembly.
