Solar Sensor: Service and Repair

SOLAR LOAD SENSOR

REMOVAL




1. Partially remove I/P filler (knee bolster) by pulling at attaching clip locations near top.
2. Remove upper and lower I/P cluster trim plate fasteners and pull rearward to remove cluster trim plate.




3. Disconnect solar load sensor wire next to radio area.




4. Remove top trim cover of solar load sensor with small blade tool.
5. Using finger nail or small blade tool separate outer/lower shell from inside sensor while pulling upward and remove solar load sensor. Outer/lower shell will not be removed.
6. Remove wire by aligning connector end carefully with outer/lower shell to remove.

INSTALLATION
1. Feed solar load sensor wire through instrument panel.
2. Snap solar load sensor in place.
3. Snap trim cover on solar load sensor.




4. Connect solar load sensor wire.




5. Install I/P cluster trim plate and fasteners.

Torque:
I/P Cluster Trim Plate-to-I/P Housing Fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)

6. Install I/P filler (knee bolster) by snapping in place.
