Right Side Axle Seal

RIGHT SIDE AXLE SEAL

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J41102 Axle Seal Installer

REMOVAL
1. Remove stub axle shaft from transaxle.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage case bore with screwdriver.





2. Use a screwdriver to remove axle seal from case. If necessary, crush seal first in order to loosen seal from case.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Axle Seal Installer J41102 must be used in order to install seal correctly. The J41102-1 Axle Seal Installing Driver installs axle seal to a given depth.





1. Using J41102-1 Axle Seal Installing Driver, install a new right side axle seal into the transaxle case.

NOTICE: In order to prevent damage to shaft splines during vehicle operation, add grease (PIN 7847638) to splines on stub shaft.





2. Install stub axle shaft and RH axle in transaxle.
3. Check fluid level.
4. Inspect shaft and seal for fluid leaks.
