Replace the thermostat if it does not open within specifications.
Starts to open temperature:
New: 84 - 88 degrees C (182 - 190 degrees F)
Used: 83 - 89 degrees C (180 - 192 degrees F)

- Use a Scan tool to verify ECT is between 87 degrees - 90 degrees C (188 degrees - 196 degrees F).
- Cycle rpm from idle to 3000 in 30 seconds intervals to aid bleeding of cooling system
