Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Service and Repair

SUNROOF MOTOR

REMOVAL

IMPORTANT: If motor will not operate, proceed to step 2.




1. Operate sunroof to the closed position.

IMPORTANT: If sunroof is still in open position, insert screwdriver into slot and manually close sunroof. Closing the sunroof before motor removal will help to maintain the mechanical timing of the sunroof assembly.

2. Remove headliner.




3. Remove electrical connection from sunroof motor.




4. Remove screws from motor assembly.
5. Remove motor assembly.

INSTALLATION




1. Prior to motor installation, verify motor is in zero position by lining up the slot on outside of ring with the slot on the inside ring as shown. Cycle motor with switch (or manually operate with small screwdriver in slot) until these slots line up.




2. Install motor assembly.
3. Install screws to motor assembly.

Torque:
Sunroof Motor-to-Sunroof Module Fasteners: 3 N.m (27 in-lbs)




4. Install electrical connection to sunroof motor.
5. Install headliner.
6. Verify smooth operation of sunroof in all positions.
