Center Connector Duct

REMOVAL




1. Disable SIR. (Refer to "Disabling the SIR System" procedure.)
2. Gently pull on left and right side console extensions to remove extensions.

Power Window Vehicles Only.




3. Using a small flat blade tool, gently pry upward on rear portion of the power window switch to partially disengage switch from console.
4. Disconnect power window switch harness from switch and remove power window switch.




5. Disengage console park brake boot by squeezing the boot in while pulling upward.
6. Lift park brake boot over park brake assembly.




7. Remove front console tray by pulling upward on tray assembly.
8. Disconnect console wiring harness from main body harness.

Automatic Transaxle Vehicles Only:




9. Pull up on PRNDL cover to disengage cover.

5-Speed Transaxle Vehicles Only:




10. Pull up on shifter boot to disengage boot.




11. Move front seats to forward most position and remove console rear fasteners.
12. Move front seats to rearward most position and remove console front fasteners.
13. Gently lift console up and over shifter or PRNDL cover and remove console assembly.




14. Remove I/P bracket.




15. Remove connector duct retaining screw.
16. Pull connector duct downward and then rearward to remove from HVAC module.
17. Enable SIR. (Refer to "Enabling the SIR System" procedure.)

INSTALLATION




1. Disable SIR. (Refer to "Disabling the SIR System" procedure.)
2. Push connector duct adapters completely up Onto main duct.
3. Install connector duct onto HVAC module.
4. Install connector duct to HVAC module screw.

Torque:
HVAC Center Duct-to-HVAC Module Fastener: 1 N.m (9 in-lbs)

5. Pull both legs of connector duct down to seal against the left and right rear seat heater ducts.




6. Install I/P bracket.

Torque:
I/P Bracket Nuts: 20 N.m (15 ft-lbs)




7. Position console into vehicle. Route shifter/PRNDL boot through console opening.
8. Install console front fasteners.

Torque:
Console Fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)

9. Move front seats forward and install console rear fasteners.

Torque:
Console Fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)

Automatic Transaxle Vehicles Only:




10. Snap PRNDL cover into console opening.

5-Speed Transaxle Vehicles Only:




11. Snap shifter boot into console opening.
12. Connect console wiring harness to main body harness.




13. Snap console front tray into console.

Power Window Vehicles Only:




14. Connect power window harness to power window switch and snap switch into place.




15. Snap park brake boot into place.




16. Install console extensions.
17. Enable SIR. (Refer to "Enabling the SIR System" procedure.)
