REAR HUB ASSEMBLYREMOVAL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove rear wheel and tire assembly.
3. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, remove brake line to rear axle control arm attachment clip.
4. On vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, remove caliper to knuckle bolts and move caliper out of the way.
5. Remove brake drum/rotor attachment screw.
6. Remove brake drum/rotor.
7. If equipped, disconnect ABS electrical connector.
8. Remove wheel hub-to-control arm nuts and discard.
9. Remove hub from vehicle.
ASSEMBLY
1. Install hub into control arm assembly using new nuts.
^ Rear Hub-to-Knuckle: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
2. If equipped, connect ABS wiring harness to sensor.
3. Install drum/rotor and tighten attachment screw.
^ Rear Brake Drum-to-Hub Screw: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
4. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, install rear caliper and tighten bolts.
^ Rear Caliper Mounting Bolts: 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
5. Vehicles equipped with rear disc brakes, install brake line to rear axle control arm bracket.
^ Rear Brake Line Bracket-to-Knuckle: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
NOTICE: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors. Failure to do so can cause wheel bolts to loosen in service.
6. Install wheel and tire assemblies onto hub.
7. Install wheel bolts and tighten in a star pattern.
7.1. Hand tighten all five wheel bolts.
7.2. Use a torque wrench to tighten wheel bolts using a star pattern.
^ Wheel Bolts (Initial Torque): 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.)
7.3. Use a torque wrench to final tighten wheel bolts using a star pattern.
^ Wheel Bolts (Final Torque): 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.)
8. Lower vehicle from hoist.
