CD Changer/Player Installation
1. Place CD changer/player into CD changer/player compartment.
IMPORTANT: Do not substitute the type of fastener that attaches the CD changer/player to CD changer/player compartment. Otherwise, shock dampening mechanism will be disabled.
2. Line up holes in CD changer/player with CD changer/player compartment and install fasteners.
Torque:
CD Changer/Player-to-CD Changer/Player Compartment Fasteners: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)
3. Install U-nuts to sheet metal.
4. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut hole in rear cargo area side carpeting (as indicated in illustration) for connector to go through.
5. Pull connector and harness through as far as possible.
6. Install rear cargo area side carpeting to vehicle with integral clips making sure carpet is slid under liftgate lower molding.
7. Install cargo net fasteners.
Torque:
Cargo Net Fasteners: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)
8. Using CD changer/player compartment as a template, mark with a pen or sharp tool where mounting holes should go through carpet.
9. Pull CD changer/player compartment away and carefully cut holes using a sharp knife.
10. Make electrical connection and temporarily connect the negative battery cable. Verify that CD changer/player is functioning properly, then disconnect the negative battery cable.
11. Install CD changer/player compartment into vehicle by first attaching compartment to side of vehicle then attaching it to floor of vehicle.
Torque:
CD Changer/Player Compartment-to-Vehicle Fasteners - Wagon: 8 N.m (71 in-lbs)
