55. Camshaft Drive Sprocket Installation

CAMSHAFT DRIVE SPROCKETS (UNIT REPAIR)

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J42069 Timing Belt Alignment Kit

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: Install alignment pin in correct numbered, alignment slot on camshaft gear.





1. Install camshaft gear.





2. Install camshaft gear bolt.

IMPORTANT: Use a new camshaft gear bolt. The required tightening method will stretch to its yield point, therefore, the bolt is not reusable.
- Use relevant Timing Belt Alignment Kit J42069- l and J42069-2 to hold camshaft gear and camshaft in place while tightening camshaft gear bolt.
- Tighten camshaft gear bolt.
Torque:
Camshaft Gear Bolt: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)+ 60 degrees + 15 degrees
