Compressor Suction Hose
COMPRESSOR SUCTION HOSEREMOVAL
1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system.
2. Remove air cleaner cover and air induction hose at intake manifold.
3. Remove suction hose from thermal expansion valve (TXV).
4. Remove suction hose from compressor inlet.
5. Remove suction hose from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove protective cover from suction hose.
IMPORTANT: Do not lubricate the new slim line seal washer on the compressor side of the suction hose. The slim line seal washer cannot be interchanged with a typical O-ring in the A/C system. Use only suction line slim line seal washers as a replacement.
2. Install suction hose to compressor inlet.
3. Install and torque bolt.
Torque:
Suction Hose-to-Compressor: 25 N. (19 ft-lbs)
4. Route hose around outside of transaxle dip stick tube, under edge of battery tray, and under negative battery cable.
5. Remove protective cover.
NOTE: Use only R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) to lubricate O-rings. Use of R-134a (PAG) oil will cause premature corrosion of fitting joints.
6. Lubricate O-ring with R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) oil.
7. Install suction hose to TXV
8. Install and torque bolt.
Torque:
Suction Hose-to-Thermal Expansion Valve: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs)
9. Install air cleaner components.
