Wiper Arm - (2ND Design), 2001 All

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J39822 Wiper Arm Puller Tool

REMOVAL




1. Remove wiper arm finish cap by pulling upward on cap at pivot location.




2. Insert key into ignition and rotate to the RUN position. Stop wiper arm at mid-wipe position (approximately 45 degrees) by putting wiper system on low speed and turning key to OFF position when wiper arm reaches mid-wipe position. Remove key from ignition.
3. Remove wiper arm nut.




4. Remove wiper arm.
4.1 Place Wiper Arm Puller Tool J39822 over wiper arm head.
4.2 Tighten cone nut (1) to secure puller jaws (2) under wiper arm head.
4.3 Align drive screw (3) over wiper arm pivot shaft and tighten T-handle (4) to remove wiper arm.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Wiper system must be put into the PARK position before arms are installed. If wiper system is not parked, arm may contact painted surfaces.




1. Park wiper system by turning wiper switch On momentarily. Once wiper switch is turned Off, wiper system should be in PARK position.
2. On drivers side, position wiper blade assembly at tick mark in the lower portion of the windshield blackout strip.
3. On passengers side, position wiper blade assembly at tick mark in the A-pillar portion of the windshield blackout strip.

NOTE: Use new wiper arm nuts. New wiper arm nuts have thread locking adhesive applied.

4. Install wiper arm nut.

Torque:
Wiper Arm Retaining Nuts - Front: 30 N.m (22 ft-lbs)
