Compressor Discharge Hose

COMPRESSOR DISCHARGE HOSE

REMOVAL




1. Recover refrigerant using an approved refrigerant recovery system.
2. Remove discharge hose from compressor outlet.




3. Remove left front headlamp assembly to gain access to condenser inlet fitting.
4. Remove discharge hose from condenser inlet.

INSTALLATION




1. Remove protective cover from discharge hose.

NOTE: Use only R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) to lubricate O-rings. Use of R-134a (PAG) oil will cause premature corrosion of fitting joints.

2. Lubricate O-ring with R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral).
3. Install discharge hose to condenser inlet.

IMPORTANT: Make sure discharge hose pipe is parallel to line on radiator end tank. This will prevent the discharge hose from contacting the suction hose and transaxle oil cooler lines, preventing potential damage to the hoses.

4. Tighten fitting.

Torque:
Discharge Hose-to-Condenser Inlet: 23.5 N.m (17 ft-lbs)

5. Install left front headlamp assembly.




6. Remove protective cover from discharge hose.

NOTE: Use only R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral) to lubricate O-rings. Use of R-134a (PAG) Oil will cause premature corrosion of fitting joints.

7. Lubricate O-ring with R-12 Refrigerant oil (mineral).
8. Install discharge hose to compressor.
9. Install and torque bolt.

Torque:
Discharge Hose-to-Compressor: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs)

10. Evacuate, charge, and leak test A/C system.
