While Driving and/or Rear Door Header Seal Pulls Away from Door

Condition:
Some customers may comment on one or more of the items shown.
Cause:
^ The flocking material used as a seal (weatherstrip) on the side door window channel assemblies may wick water into the passenger compartment after being exposed to heavy or extended periods of rain.
^ The material compound of these parts may create a rubbing interference against the roof appliques, which may cause a creaking noise in the door while driving.
^ The retention design in the original sedan rear side door window channel assemblies may allow the part to come loose from the door header.
Correction:
Identify any door(s) affected by any of the conditions. Replace the side door window channel assembly a each affected door with new design parts per the parts list in this bulletin. Refer to the "Window Channel Replacement Door" procedure (for front doors) or "Window Replacement -- Rear Door Stationary (Sedan)" procedure (for sedan reai side doors) in the Doors subsection of the Body and Accessories section of the 2003 or 2004 Saturn ION Service Manual, Vol. 3.
