7. Case Cover Assembly Removal


Case Cover Assembly Removal

Tools Required
^ J43969 Case Cover Lifting Bracket
^ J44337 Build Plate Assembly





1. Notice: The control valve body assembly must be removed before removing the case cover assembly. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the variable ratio control lever.

Remove the 2 bolts from the driven pulley cover.
2. Remove the 2 bolts from the drive pulley cover.





3. Remove the 14 case cover bolts.





4. Attach the shorter legs of the J43969 to the two open bolt holes on the drive pulley cover.
5. Attach the longer legs of the J43969 to the two open bolt holes on the driven pulley cover.





6. Important: There are two pry points on the case cover assembly.

Important: The seal between the case cover assembly and the transmission case assembly is tight.

Use a pry bar in order to separate the case cover assembly from the transmission case assembly.





7. Important: The J43969 may require adjustment when lifting the case cover assembly.

Using a suitable lifting device, carefully remove the case cover assembly.





8. Important: The reverse clutch hub assembly and thrust washer may be stuck to the case cover assembly. Remove these components before installing the case cover assembly into the J44337 (2).

Lower the case cover assembly, with forward clutch and input shaft, into the J44337 (2).
9. Remove the J43969 (1).
