Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
Window Replacement - Rear Door
Removal Procedure
1. Position the window half way down.
2. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair
3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the rear door trim plate.
5. Remove the foam insulator, from behind the trim plate.
6. Remove the lower rear window run channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door).
7. Remove the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (New Style) (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (New Style))Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (Old Style) (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (Old Style)).
8. Remove the window by tilting the rear of the window upward and sliding up and out.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the window by tilting the rear of the window upward and sliding down and in.
2. Install the rear door window weatherstrip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (New Style) (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (New Style))Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (Old Style) (Weatherstrip Replacement - Rear Door Window (Old Style)).
3. Install the rear window run channel. Refer to Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door (Window Run Channel Replacement - Rear Door).
4. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair).
5. Install the rear door rim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door Service and Repair
6. Install the foam insulator, behind the trim plate.
7. Install the rear door trim plate.
8. Operate the window to inspect the operation. If binding exists, inspect all of the weatherstrips and adjust as necessary.
