Temperature Control Cable Replacement
TEMPERATURE CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Pull out on the accessory trim plate in order to release the retaining fasteners.
2. Disconnect the accessory trim plate electrical connector(s).
3. Remove the screws from the radio and pull the radio out.
4. Disconnect the radio electrical connectors and remove the radio.
5. Disconnect the mode and temperature cables from the HVAC control assembly.
IMPORTANT: Do not bend the mode and temperature cables.
6. Disconnect the HVAC control assembly electrical connectors.
7. Remove the HVAC control assembly screws and remove the HVAC control assembly.
8. Remove the temperature cable screw and remove the temperature cable.
IMPORTANT: Do not bend the temperature cable.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the temperature cable. Make certain that the cable is properly seated in the notches in the HVAC module.
IMPORTANT: Do not bend the temperature cable.
2. Install the temperature cable screw.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
3. Install the HVAC control assembly.
4. Install the HVAC control assembly screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
5. Connect the mode and temperature cables to the HVAC control assembly.
IMPORTANT: Do not bend the mode and temperature cables.
6. Connect the HVAC control assembly electrical connectors.
7. Place the radio in the vehicle and connect the radio electrical connectors.
8. Push the radio into position.
9. Install the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).
10. Connect the accessory trim plate electrical connector(s).
11. Align the retaining fasteners with the I/P.
12. Push on the outer edge of the accessory trim plate in order to secure the retaining fasteners.
