Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air inlet tube and air cleaner assembly.




3. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator hose from the throttle body and fuel rail.
4. Disconnect the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the idle air control (IAC) electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connection.




6. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
7. Remove the throttle body mounting bolts and nuts.
8. Remove the throttle cable bracket.

IMPORTANT: The throttle body-to-manifold gasket is reusable if it is not damaged. Replace if damaged.

9. Remove the throttle body.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the throttle body gasket.
2. Install the throttle body and throttle cable bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the throttle body mounting bolts and nuts.

- Tighten the throttle body bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Tighten the throttle body nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Connect the throttle and cruise control cables.
5. Connect the throttle position sensor (TPS) and the idle air control (IAC) electrical connectors.
6. Connect the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connection.
7. Connect the fuel pressure regulator hose to the throttle body and fuel rail.




8. Connect the air inlet tube and air cleaner assembly.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
