Windshield Washer Reservoir: Service and Repair

WASHER PUMP/RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the washer fluid from the washer solvent container.
3. Remove the top fastener from the filler neck.
4. Pull the top filler neck apart from the washer bottle by rocking side to side while pulling out.
5. Pull back the drivers side wheelhouse liner to access the washer pump. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front in Body Front End.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the washer pump.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the solvent level sensor.
8. Remove the fluid hose from pump, making sure to capture any spilling solvent.




9. Remove the bolts from the washer solvent container.
10. Remove the washer solvent container from the front frame rail.
11. Empty the washer fluid from the washer solvent container.
12. Remove the washer pump from the washer solvent container by pulling firmly on the pump.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the washer pump to the washer solvent container pressing into place until fully seated.
2. Position the washer solvent container to the front frame rail.

3. Install the bolts to the washer solvent container.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 4 N.m (35 lb in).




4. Install the fluid hose to the washer pump.
5. Connect the electrical connector to the washer pump.
6. Connect the electrical connector to the solvent level sensor.




7. Install the filler neck to the washer solvent container.
8. Fill the washer solvent container with new washer solvent.
9. Inspect the wiper/washer system for proper operation.
10. Pull back the drivers side wheelhouse liner.
