Console Replacement




Console Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Pull the trim outward to release the Velcro(R). Slide the trim forward in the vehicle.
2. Remove the trim from the instrument panel (I/P).
3. Remove the power window switches, if equipped. Refer to Power Window Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) in Doors.




4. Remove the park brake boot over by inserting a flat-bladed tool between the boot and the console.
5. Pull the park brake boot over the park brake assembly.
6. Remove the cupholder assembly. Refer to Cupholder Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Disconnect the console wiring harness from the main body harness located under the cupholder.
8. Remove the shift lever boot. Refer to Shift Control Boot Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T40-E/4T45-E.




9. Move the front seats to forward most position and remove console rear fasteners.
10. Remove the console front fasteners.
11. Gently lift the console up and over the shifter.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the console into the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the console front fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

3. Move the seats forward. Install the console rear fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 Nm (22 lb in).

4. Install the shift lever boot. Refer to Shift Control Boot Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T40-E/4T45-E.
5. Connect the console wiring harness to the main body harness located under the front console tray.
6. Install the cupholder assembly. Refer to Cupholder Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the power window switch, if equipped. Refer to Power Window Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) in Doors.




8. Snap the park brake boot into place.




9. Install the console trim panels.
