Instrument Panel (I/P) Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
2. Disable the passenger SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
3. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
5. Remove the HVAC control. Refer to HVAC Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC - Manual.
6. Remove the left air outlet louver. Refer to Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
7. Remove the right air outlet louver. Refer to Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Right in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
8. Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Defroster Grille Replacement).
9. Remove the I/P cluster.




10. Remove the harness clips from the I/P.
11. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
12. Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement).
13. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
14. Remove the data link connector (DLC) from the I/P.




15. Remove the I/P to floor bracket fasteners.




16. Remove all harness clips from the I/P.




17. Remove the I/P fasteners.




18. Remove the I/P from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the I/P to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the I/P fasteners.

Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb in).




3. Install all harness clips to the I/P.




4. Install the I/P to floor bracket fasteners.

Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 lb in).

5. Install the DLC to the I/P.
6. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
7. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) (Instrument Panel Compartment - Replacement).
8. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.




9. Install the harness clips to the I/P.
10. Install the I/P cluster.
11. Install the right air outlet louver
12. Install the left air outlet louver. Refer to Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
13. Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Defroster Grille Replacement).
14. Remove the HVAC control. Refer to HVAC Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC - Manual.
15. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
16. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement (Service and Repair).
17. Enable the passenger SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in SIR.
18. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
19. Verify the operation of all components in the I/P.
