LOCK ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOORREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the door trim panel front.
2. Remove the water deflector carefully by peeling back the edges.
IMPORTANT: Replace the water deflector if damaged.
3. Detach the front lock rod from the latch assembly by pulling outward.
4. Remove the lock rod by pulling up through the access hole.
5. Remove the door handle actuator rod front inside.
6. Remove the window guide by removing the bolt in the door jamb and sliding the guide downward.
7. Disconnect the electrical connections from the latch mechanism.
8. Use a marker to identify the correct lock rod orientation to aid in installation.
9. Remove the latch mechanism from the door structure.
10. Remove the lock cylinder lock rod from the latch mechanism by rotating the latch mechanism as required.
11. Remove the lock cylinder lock rod from the lock cylinder by routing the rod through the retainer.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Route the lock cylinder lock rod through the retainer in the lock cylinder.
2. Attach the latch mechanism to the lock rod aligning to the previous marks and also ensuring the door handle actuator rod connects to the latch mechanism before the bolts are installed.
3. Install the latch mechanism in the correct position.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the latch-to-door bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Connect the electrical connection to the latch mechanism.
5. Install the window guide by sliding the guide upward to engage the retainer into the slot.
6. Install the window guide bolt.
Tighten the window guide bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
7. Place the lock rod through the access hole.
8. Attach the lock rod to the clip by pushing toward the outer door panel.
9. Install the door handle actuator rod front inside.
10. Verify the correct operation of all actuator rods.
11. Install the water deflector to the previous holes and position.
IMPORTANT: Replace the water deflector if damaged.
12. Install the front door trim panel.
